Taiwan Day 1!!!

Now I remembered why I was procrastinating to edit my Taiwan photos and to update my blog with my Taiwan trip stuff last week.. I spent 2 hours sorting out the photos into separate folders for Day 1, Day 2, etc.. And further segmented into “Day 1 – Changi Airport”, “Day 1 – Taoyuan Airport” & “Day 1 – Xi Men Ting” and so on.. you get the idea.. Just to give more information, day 1 took up about 460MB of space in my computer.. That’s excluding the pictures from 1 more friend…

A summary of who went & the cameras used – 8 of us, all my friends from WoW & my sister. 5 main camera men / women sharing 3 main cameras. And my camera took about 5GB worth of  photos, 1 more camera (our official one) took about 11GB worth.. The last one should be around 3GB or so.. For an 8-day trip.. Yessss….. That was why I was procrastinating….

Anyway, I just spent the last 2 hours editing the photos and laying them out properly.. I bet I am going to spend the next 30 mins blogging about it.. (official start time: 12.30am)..

I won’t be giving the full summary of where we went in this post cos its gonna b too long. Will just be giving the introduction as we go along ok!! Here goes!!!!

Here’s us. At Changi Airport.. posing while waiting for everyone to gather and to check in our luggage, etc.. Testing out the different cameras as well… And acting crazy while waiting for the boarding time…

day1changi

Didnt bother posting pictures of us in the plane.. All planes look similar on the inside anyway.. So here’s arriving at Taoyuan Airport 4 hours later!! Almost the 8 of us in the first picture.. We took ALOT of pictures with the Jolin Tsai & Farenheit (Fei Lun Hai) posters in the airport… Don’t ask me why.. *haha*

day1taoyuan

And then… I just realised I left out some pictures… (off to photoshop again. Time – 12.55am)

Back at 1.05am..

Here’s us.. on the way to East Dragon Hotel aka Chengdu Hotel & at the hotel lobby.. And acting crazy as usual.. Our tour guide couldn’t understand why we kept taking pictures… I don’t really understand why too. But it was SERIOUSLY very addictive.. After awhile, we hear “1, 2, 3!!” and we turn around to look for the camera.. And on the 3rd day onwards, our guide started joining in when we counted down too!! Hahahaa..

day1busride

And then some pictures of Taipei’s streets at night taken while on the bus and while walking to XMD area… was around 9pm at night..

day1taipei

And then we reached our FIRST food destination!!! A must-try when you go to Taiwan – Taipei!!! Ah Zong Mee Sua!!! The queue there is LONG! And even the locals love it.. And its shiok when you eat it in their weather!! The cold wind blowing, the hot mee sua in your mouth!! Shiok!!! Us enjoying it…

day1ahzong

And you think thats it??? When you are at Taiwan, you do not stop eating… You go on & on & on.. I put on 3kg while I was there. But that’s besides the point. I gave myself an allowance of 3kg for Taiwan. I gotta eat!!!!!! There are street stalls EVERYWHERE!! And they run damn fast when they see the policemen patrolling. So if you see it & want it, buy it!! It will be gone the next minute!!

day1food

(Last picture is a close-up of the mee sua that we had. and the previous is the ‘zao pai’..)

And then we took some pictures of interesting things that we saw in XMD on our first night.. Think our Giordano got the idea of giving discounts for umbrellas on sunny days from them..

And Taiwanese are DAMN fascinated with those ‘pick-up’ toys.. Its EVERYWHERE!! We saw it at every night market of Taipei & Taichung that we went to…

And they seem to have alot of mini movie theatres like how SG used to be like years ago.. its found at every corner of XMD. They even 1 have ‘movie’ street where there are more movie theatres..

The last 2 pictures are of this cute cafe & mascot that we saw… Initially caught our eye cos of the CUTE retriever that was at the door.. And on 2nd look, we realised that the shop was called “Ah Mao” with the picture of a doggie there. Apparently, the doggy’s called Ah Mao tooooo!!! So cute!!

day1interesting-sights1

And this marks the end of our Day 1 at Taipei – XMD after we landed at bout 7pm++.. Headed back to the hotel after this cos the stores here close at about 11pm++.. 7 more days of photos to edit & blog entries to writeee…

Not too sure when will be my 2nd post of Day 2.. Doing it today cos of server maintenance for WoW and feeling bored.. Heh.. Anyway, will post about my latest job and my latest gadget later on tooooo!!!

And don’t mind me if there are any grammatical / spelling / typo errors in the entry k! As anal I am about grammer mistakes, etc in writing.. I tend to make them whenever I blog, especially at this time of the night.. I usually read through 3 to 4 times for grammer mistakes before I post.. (Already edited 2 rounds and I am DAMN tired.. so don’t mind the mistakes..)

Oh, btw.. I will be sharing this blog address with the WoW peeps who went Taiwan with me… And with some of my other friends who are interested in Taiwan stuff tooo.. So.. There will be lesser gossip and bitchy stuff from now on.. Not that I have anything to bitch about these people.. They are NICE people laaa..

Just that I have been wanting to make this a more ‘for the public’ blog.. So its about time since there’s so much info & photos about Taiwan for sharing.. Shall just announce it officially.. But if there is anything that I REALLY really REALLY must bitch about, I will be more discreet! Muahahahaa…

Alright.. time check – 1.20am.. I took 1 hour to blog…… 2 hours to edit photos.. Help!!!

Busy busy!!

Life has been really busy at my new job. This is only my first week here and I havent been able to get off work early since my first day.. The earliest so far is 8pm!!!

Not sure if this is good or bad news.. But seems ok cos there are quite alot of people staying back all the time, so i don’t feel so lonely.. But I think this should be only temporary cos I am staying late partly to clear some shit that was left behind by the previous people who handled things that I was taking over.. N partly cos I am trying to learn more, find out more about my project so that i can excel..

Been pretty stressed cos I had my first war on my first day here. Actually more like kena bombed.. But I guess I will survive.. I am usually QUITE well-liked… I hope.. *haha* Apparently the person who bombed me (from another department) is the common enemy of my ENTIRE department of about 40+ people.. *haha* so I am supported by my bosses!

Must really work hard here to prove myself cos over the last 4 days, over chatting w my seniors n bosses, they seem to have a very high expectations of what I can do.. And I still feel like I am lacking in some ways. So I really gotta buck up and prove myself!

I was engaged to an assistant manager position instead of a managerial post which was the job opening cos they felt I wasnt experienced enough.. (they told me during my interview that I wasnt experienced enough for such a HUGE responsibility).. So i tot I didnt have the chance already.. But apparently, i heard from my staff that the 2 MDs that interviewed me decided to engage me right after the interview.. They felt my character was up to it but experience lacking. Hence the assistant position to test me I guess.

Anyway, life here is not bad. Some mean people here and there, but on the whole, everyone is nice and friendly..

I guess I will like it here and can see myself staying here for a slightly longer time.. All the best to me!!

No berry photos cos I am still at office.. taking a break from my research for my job..

N for taiwan pictures, some are uploaded by my friends in facebook already.. I still VERY lazy to go edit and upload mine.. heh..
