New Watch from Uncle!!

Close friends should know by now that I have a soft spot for watches!

Recently saw this watch which I fell in love with! A relatively new brand in the SG market but has been around since the 1800s. Told my Uncle to keep that particular watch for me till I save enough to purchase it.

And….. during CNY when I went to visit him to ‘bai nian’, he gave it to me!!!!! Ultimate Love!! So happy!! Love love love it!

Brand of watch is called Ingersoll.

Pics of the watch!

For those of you who are curious, retail price of the watch is about $500+. Can’t really remember.

My first automatic watch!! And more to come!

GSS Ends Late This Year!!

Oooh.. Just found out that GSS is ending late this year!!

Usually it ends around end of June, but this year its ending on 26th July!!! Maybe they’re trying to improve the economy with a longer sale period.

Means I have more time to go shopping!!! And pay day is coming soon!!! Hopefully I get my shopping mood back before the GSS ends.

Anyway, someone commented that I actually made 2 entries all about shopping.. So just to irritate him, I have decided to make a 3rd post about it! *haha*

Oh. The 2009 GSS message is quite cute. Took screenshots of it to share with you people. Enjoy!

More Shopaholic Rant..

Before I even realised, GSS is almost over. It kinda sucks. I haven’t bought a single thing for GSS this year.

I have been feeling very lazy to shop. Lazy to head to town to see if there were any good buys. Drove past Paragon a couple of times during June and saw the throngs of people queueing outside Gucci, etc. Saw the Prada boutique flooded with people. And I heard Ferragamo is having up to 45% sales. And I havent stepped into any one of them. Not that I am a sucker for branded stuff. I havent been interested in branded stuff for a long time. But in the past, I used to at least go inside the boutique, walk 1 round just to prove that I have nothing I fancy and then leave empty-handed. But this year, I didnt even get to walk inside, and not to mention, I didnt FEEL like it either.

I didnt even do my usual shopping inside my favourite ‘personal’ store, Watsons, I didnt even enter a single Charles & Keith boutique. I didnt step into any clothing or shoe or bag shop the ENTIRE GSS!!!! *gasp*

What is happening to Ade? I was telling Kiki maybe I bought too many shoes in TW already. But that shouldnt be affecting my shopping mood for other stuff right? Oh! That reminds me.. I still havent finish uploading my TW photos! I am a PROCRASTINATER!!!

Ah well.. Anyway, maybe I should really try hitting the malls this weekend, just to see if I still have that Shopaholic ‘mode’ in me. *haha*

Will update if I succeed in dragging my ever-growing-big-fat-ass out of the house and to the shopping mall this weekend!

Shopaholic

I was just wondering the last few days… About things I needed / wanted to buy…

How it started.. My favourite place to go used to be Mustafa’s IT section.. I always had things to look for, things to buy, things to check out prices for.. But that one particular night a few days ago, I wanted to suggest going to Mustafa to Kiki, but I suddenly stopped myself. Gave a 5 minute thought about it and realised that there was nothing I wanted to ‘lookout’ for. I suddenly realised that my IT gadget shopping list shortened.

I was talking to Kiki about it and he told me “Cos you basically bought everything you wanted already.” Which was true. I wasted quite a bit of money since last year till now. Basically what I wanted, I got. And suddenly realise how empty it feels to have ‘nothing’ you want to buy. Not exactly nothing, but lesser things for now cos the things I want are currently out of budget.

I can suddenly just imagine how those Tai tais and socialites must feel. I mean, I am sure there are still things that they want somehow… Imagine stepping into a Prada boutique and asking “What’s new today?” and the SA replying “Nothing new Mdm, you have everything that’s sold here already.” That’s how sad right? That was an experience my friend shared with me recently during her SA days years ago. She was working at a boutique and this tai-tai came in asking if there was anything to buy, and actually looked quite lost and disappointed when she got the reply that she had everything in the shop already.

Maybe that was why brands like Hermes came up with the birkins. Where you had to queue up for YEARS to get it. And those tai-tais, celebrities, etc, craaaved for it. Cos it was something they couldnt get as easily..

Anyway, was just feeling quite empty when I was looking at my blog and trying to think of new things to add on my ‘To Buy” list and felt quite lost when I ‘striked’ off some items and had no new things to add. I think I need to look around for new hobbies, new ‘wants’ again to give myself something to look forward to when I get my next paycheck.

For now, my Nikon D90 is the only thing to look forward to.. Maybe along with a spa / massage trip to Batam / Bintan and a shopping trip to Bkk / Taiwan again!!

I want to get my shopaholic self back with loads of things to buy again!!!!

Taiwan Day 1!!!

Now I remembered why I was procrastinating to edit my Taiwan photos and to update my blog with my Taiwan trip stuff last week.. I spent 2 hours sorting out the photos into separate folders for Day 1, Day 2, etc.. And further segmented into “Day 1 – Changi Airport”, “Day 1 – Taoyuan Airport” & “Day 1 – Xi Men Ting” and so on.. you get the idea.. Just to give more information, day 1 took up about 460MB of space in my computer.. That’s excluding the pictures from 1 more friend…

A summary of who went & the cameras used – 8 of us, all my friends from WoW & my sister. 5 main camera men / women sharing 3 main cameras. And my camera took about 5GB worth of  photos, 1 more camera (our official one) took about 11GB worth.. The last one should be around 3GB or so.. For an 8-day trip.. Yessss….. That was why I was procrastinating….

Anyway, I just spent the last 2 hours editing the photos and laying them out properly.. I bet I am going to spend the next 30 mins blogging about it.. (official start time: 12.30am)..

I won’t be giving the full summary of where we went in this post cos its gonna b too long. Will just be giving the introduction as we go along ok!! Here goes!!!!

Here’s us. At Changi Airport.. posing while waiting for everyone to gather and to check in our luggage, etc.. Testing out the different cameras as well… And acting crazy while waiting for the boarding time…

day1changi

Didnt bother posting pictures of us in the plane.. All planes look similar on the inside anyway.. So here’s arriving at Taoyuan Airport 4 hours later!! Almost the 8 of us in the first picture.. We took ALOT of pictures with the Jolin Tsai & Farenheit (Fei Lun Hai) posters in the airport… Don’t ask me why.. *haha*

day1taoyuan

And then… I just realised I left out some pictures… (off to photoshop again. Time – 12.55am)

Back at 1.05am..

Here’s us.. on the way to East Dragon Hotel aka Chengdu Hotel & at the hotel lobby.. And acting crazy as usual.. Our tour guide couldn’t understand why we kept taking pictures… I don’t really understand why too. But it was SERIOUSLY very addictive.. After awhile, we hear “1, 2, 3!!” and we turn around to look for the camera.. And on the 3rd day onwards, our guide started joining in when we counted down too!! Hahahaa..

day1busride

And then some pictures of Taipei’s streets at night taken while on the bus and while walking to XMD area… was around 9pm at night..

day1taipei

And then we reached our FIRST food destination!!! A must-try when you go to Taiwan – Taipei!!! Ah Zong Mee Sua!!! The queue there is LONG! And even the locals love it.. And its shiok when you eat it in their weather!! The cold wind blowing, the hot mee sua in your mouth!! Shiok!!! Us enjoying it…

day1ahzong

And you think thats it??? When you are at Taiwan, you do not stop eating… You go on & on & on.. I put on 3kg while I was there. But that’s besides the point. I gave myself an allowance of 3kg for Taiwan. I gotta eat!!!!!! There are street stalls EVERYWHERE!! And they run damn fast when they see the policemen patrolling. So if you see it & want it, buy it!! It will be gone the next minute!!

day1food

(Last picture is a close-up of the mee sua that we had. and the previous is the ‘zao pai’..)

And then we took some pictures of interesting things that we saw in XMD on our first night.. Think our Giordano got the idea of giving discounts for umbrellas on sunny days from them..

And Taiwanese are DAMN fascinated with those ‘pick-up’ toys.. Its EVERYWHERE!! We saw it at every night market of Taipei & Taichung that we went to…

And they seem to have alot of mini movie theatres like how SG used to be like years ago.. its found at every corner of XMD. They even 1 have ‘movie’ street where there are more movie theatres..

The last 2 pictures are of this cute cafe & mascot that we saw… Initially caught our eye cos of the CUTE retriever that was at the door.. And on 2nd look, we realised that the shop was called “Ah Mao” with the picture of a doggie there. Apparently, the doggy’s called Ah Mao tooooo!!! So cute!!

day1interesting-sights1

And this marks the end of our Day 1 at Taipei – XMD after we landed at bout 7pm++.. Headed back to the hotel after this cos the stores here close at about 11pm++.. 7 more days of photos to edit & blog entries to writeee…

Not too sure when will be my 2nd post of Day 2.. Doing it today cos of server maintenance for WoW and feeling bored.. Heh.. Anyway, will post about my latest job and my latest gadget later on tooooo!!!

And don’t mind me if there are any grammatical / spelling / typo errors in the entry k! As anal I am about grammer mistakes, etc in writing.. I tend to make them whenever I blog, especially at this time of the night.. I usually read through 3 to 4 times for grammer mistakes before I post.. (Already edited 2 rounds and I am DAMN tired.. so don’t mind the mistakes..)

Oh, btw.. I will be sharing this blog address with the WoW peeps who went Taiwan with me… And with some of my other friends who are interested in Taiwan stuff tooo.. So.. There will be lesser gossip and bitchy stuff from now on.. Not that I have anything to bitch about these people.. They are NICE people laaa..

Just that I have been wanting to make this a more ‘for the public’ blog.. So its about time since there’s so much info & photos about Taiwan for sharing.. Shall just announce it officially.. But if there is anything that I REALLY really REALLY must bitch about, I will be more discreet! Muahahahaa…

Alright.. time check – 1.20am.. I took 1 hour to blog…… 2 hours to edit photos.. Help!!!
